Tuesday evening, at one of the most important political events of the year, First LadyMichelle Obama eschewed the more lady-like dresses she has worn to the State of the Union over the last six years and made a power play by wearing a serious but figure-flattering skirt suit.
The First Lady's fashion choices are always important -- she is a fashion-conscious woman and her wardrobe sets a tone for her husband's administration. And it is always interesting to see which designers she decides to publicly support at high-profile events. This skirt suit is from America's favorite designer Michael Kors, and was a part of his fall 2013 collection. (The jacket is still available on Ebay for $795.) She notably altered the design by removing the front thigh slit which, while less sexy for the viewers at home, was undoubtedly a good decision.
