6th Edition of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria







Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN)  is back with the 6th edition of the larger than life fashion event that showcases the cultural diversity from the African continent to an international audience. Set to take place at The Oriental Hotel Lagos Nigeria from the 20th - 21st of December 2019, Africa Fashion Week founder Princess Ronke Ademiluyi continues to champion creativity from our multicultural continent both at home and abroad. 

AFWN follows on from the success of  the 9th edition of  Africa Fashion Week London, which took place in the English capital in August 2019. The European Leg of the trade show showcased a vast range of fashion collections from designers across Africa and Europe. 





This year’s event will feature a catwalk show curated by the First Ladies for Nigeria. Her Excellency the First Lady of Ekiti state Erelu Bisi Fayemi, AFWN global ambassador  is dedicated to encouraging creative talent and is working on a project with young designers and dressmakers in her state. Her Excellency the First Lady of Kwara Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazak, Matron for AFWN will be letting us in on the progressive work being carried out in her state. The first ladies are passionate about using the AFWN platform as an instrument for sustainable growth and job creation.





The 6th edition introduces exciting elements, designed to enhance the experience for guests and participants. Panel sessions and forums will be taking place, created to offer guidance and advice to aspiring designers and creatives. Former Director-General of Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, Mrs. Omotayo Omotosho, aka Madam Tourism will be moderating a panel session that will discuss ‘The Benefits of Fashion Tourism’. Talks will be given by leading manufacturers, retailers and government officials from areas related to fashion. Partners, the prestigious Parsons Design School NYC will be present to talk about ‘Sustainable Fashion & Technology’. Henley Business School of The University of Reading will be discussing valuable insight on ‘The Business of Fashion’ .



An exciting selection of established and up and coming fashion designer will debut new collections during the catwalk schedules across the two days. Ready to wear fashion  accessories and clothing will be available to purchase, from a range of brands in the exhibition area of the event. AFWN continues to be an empowering enterprise that promotes african brands through worldwide visibility and distribution. The countdown to the much anticipated 6th edition begins.
